Collection: Workshops

Looking for a fun and unique craft experience?
All "Make & Take" workshops are open anyone looking for an enjoyable, beginner friendly project based experience.
Other skill based workshops will have a prerequisite of my Metalsmithing Basics Workshop (Expanded or Condensed) or the ability to demonstrate basic skills in jewelry fabrication.

Occasionally I offer other "make & take" workshops that are not jewelry oriented or offer guest instructor workshops with other makers. See the current available workshops below.

Either way, you'll learn in a relaxing environment, develop an appreciation for the process, and go home with your own hand crafted jewelry, adornment, or other project.

All sessions are held in my spacious studio.
Located in Downtown Winona, the studio is connected to my brick & mortar shop,
ORNO Gift + Home.

Workshops dates are typically updated on a bi-monthly basis.
Signing up for my newsletter is the best way to get new date announcements.

Most workshops are limited to 4 participants.
This allows for plenty of time to ask questions and for individual instruction throughout the class.
*Please note that some classes have participation minimums so please read each listing carefully.

Want to book your own group?
Private workshops are available for 4-6 participants, depending on the class.

One on one metalsmithing lessons are also available.
These are great for beginners or someone who has some of the basics but would like to expand their skillset or work on a specific project. The advantage of one on one lessons is having uninterrupted instruction time without distractions and is great for those who don't care for working in a group setting.
One on one lesson pricing:
$200 for the first 2 hours (minimum) and $75 for each additional hour. Brass and copper materials for most lessons, tools, and instruction are included. Sterling Silver materials may be purchased during the lessons. Duration will be based on what skills your interested in learning. Beginner metalsmiths should expect to spend at least 8 hours to go over all subjects and materials. Lessons may be booked over a series of dates depending on availability.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions or are interested in booking private lessons or workshops.

Please read through all of the workshop info below before purchasing.

ADDITIONAL WORKSHOP INFO

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY :

All workshop seats are considered non-refundable.

If you would like to reschedule for a future class, you must contact me at least 72 hours in advance of your workshop date and I will issue you a credit for your class fee to be used within 6 months.

Many classes have a participant minimum. If we do have reach the minimum number of participants by 48 hours prior, I will notify you by email and give you the option to reschedule or issue you a credit or refund.
I do my best to get all seats filled for each workshop, but occasionally there aren't enough people for it to make sense to move forward.

If you need to cancel, please contact me as soon as possible and I will do what I can to help you fill your seat. If we can find a substitute for your seat, you will then receive a refund.
If substittue is not found, you will forfeit your payment.

Last minute cancellations (less than 48 hrs) and “no-shows” will not be refunded or rescheduled.

Testing positive for Covid-19 is an acceptable reason for last minute rescheduling.

Please stay home if you are sick.

AGE RESTRICTIONS :

For most workshops participants must be 18+ to attend. Students ages 15-17 may participate if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Occasionally we offer teen exclusive workshops where students won't need to be accompanied by an adult, but a parent/guardian must be present at drop off to complete a studio waver.

Please read the course description in full before purchasing.

COVID-19 SAFETY :

My studio is equipped with high-quality air purifiers that run during all workshops as a layer of mitigation. You will be given a KN95 mask to use for your protection from dust and particulates, and you'll also be asked to wear them during demonstrations while students are gathered very close to the instructor.

HOW TO "GIFT" A WORKSHOP :

If you would like to purchase a workshop as a gift for someone else you can choose the workshop and the date that you think they would like. Purchase as usual with your info. Then email me to let me know that someone else will be attending the workshop and send me their email address so that the reminder email can go to them instead of you.

If you aren't sure they can make the dates availlable work, I suggest purchasing a gift card that they can use toward the purchase of a workshop seat of their choosing.
